Helen Clarke is a classically trained concert pianist and professional performer, whose love of music has taken her from performing professionally from the age of 14 to stages, theatres and audiences across the UK and around the world.

Although classically trained, Helen’s repertoire reaches far beyond the classical world. She performs rock, pop, film music, musicals, contemporary favourites and her own original compositions, creating her own arrangements and bringing each piece to life in her own distinctive style.

​

A key part of Helen’s sound is the way she combines her classical training with the music she loves. Her arrangements often bring the richness, technique and emotion of classical piano into rock and pop music, creating something that feels both familiar and completely her own.

​

Throughout her career, Helen has had the privilege of performing alongside and working with some wonderful and highly respected names in music, including The Bachelors, The Syd Lawrence Orchestra, The Swinging Blue Jeans, The Searchers, Kenny Ball and the Pasadena Roof Orchestra.

​

She has also enjoyed some particularly memorable collaborations, including performing piano duets with the acclaimed actor and musician Christopher Plummer, as well as working with Richard Todd and accompanying a wide range of international performers.

Since 1997, Helen has been the resident pianist at the famous Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa — the historic home of the Dambusters. Over the years, this beautiful and historic setting has become a very special part of Helen’s musical life, and she is affectionately known by many as “the Dambuster Pianist.”

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music in 2001, Helen released her debut album, Wish Upon A Star. Since then, she has continued to record and release music, with her albums and original compositions available to listeners around the world.

Helen has also worked on exciting recording and production projects, including filming piano performances for the Vienna Symphonic Library, bringing her playing to an international audience of musicians, composers and music lovers.

Today, Helen’s music reaches audiences far beyond the concert stage. She regularly livestreams her piano performances across the internet, connecting with people around the world through YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and other platforms. Her streams have grown into a warm and welcoming international community, with individual streams regularly reaching 300,000 likes.

​

But for Helen, it has never really been about the numbers. She genuinely loves people and the connection that music creates. One of the things she treasures most is meeting her fans, both online and in person — putting faces to familiar names, hearing their stories, sharing a laugh and seeing the happiness that music can bring.

The people who follow Helen’s music have become a very special part of her journey. Whether someone has been listening for years or has only just discovered her music, Helen is grateful for every person who takes the time to listen, come along to a performance or join one of her livestreams.
